Our Guide to Holiday Marketing
The holidays give us many things- great food, time with family, and, if you work in social media, a challenge. Social Media Managers are put to the test during the holidays. How do you cut through the noise and reach your audience? How do you maintain your brand’s integrity and still drive sales? How many Christmas themed captions can you write? Never fear, The Burnette Agency is here to offer you some tips for creating an authentic holiday experience for your customers.
Tip 1: Keep It Social
Connect with your followers by offering special deals specifically through your social channels. This could mean a screenshot deal delivered through your Instagram or Snapchat story, or a tweet notifying followers of a time-sensitive discount on a hot item. However you choose to deliver it, this social drive will create a sense of exclusivity among your followers. It’s also a great way to track who uses the deal or which platform your followers are interacting with the most.
Tip 2: Promote Positivity
Revisit the reviews section of your Facebook or Google Page and put those positives to work! If you aren’t already responding to feedback on social, the holidays are the perfect time to share what real customers are saying about you! Did you make someone’s day with your product? Did one of your employees go above and beyond? Share it! This season is about sharing positivity and sharing how your brand executes this will only help you stand out from the crowd.
Tip 3: Be a Help
Piggybacking off the last tip, the holiday season is a time to showcase how your brand or product simplifies your customers lives. While the holidays are about many good things, they can also be stressful. Demonstrate the ways in which you make life merry and bright for your followers!
Tip 4: Double Gifting
If you’re selling a product, feature it as not only a gift for someone else, but a gift for your customer. The hottest new purse could go to Aunt Gladys, but it could also be a great addition to the purchasers collection! The holidays can be stressful, so why not encourage your followers and fans to treat themselves during the season? This can be accomplished in the copy of your ads, emails and gift guides.
Tip 5: Reward
The holidays are often spent attempting to acquire new fans or customers, but don’t over look the brand loyalists! Reward your current fans and followers with special deals or incentives via social. Encourage them to share why they love you and foster the relationships you currently have.
