Ways to Give Back to the Community

Our world is going through a global pandemic, Lots of social movements, and a bunch of pain and suffering. The world needs healing, love, and peace. Wouldn’t you love to do something to help bring those joys back to life. If you want to do your part, here are ways to give back to the community. Although these things may seem a little, they have a big impact. Just doing a small act of kindness, can bring a big smile to someone’s face. Here are a few suggestions on what you and your family can do to leave a positive imprint on this earth.

One thing you can do is give your time. There are so many homeless shelters who need materials such as clothing and food. You and your family can gather up those necessities and drop it off to the homeless shelters or even find homeless men and women on the street. You can also donate your time by volunteering at the soup kitchen. Some of the sweetest people in the world work there as well as come in for a meal. It’s a great and welcoming space for you and your family to meet people who are less fortunate than you but have such a bright and gentle spirit.

Another thing that you can do every single day is recycle. There is so much plastic in the world. When they burn it, it affects our ecosystem. When they throw it away it ends up in the ocean killing hundreds and thousands of living creatures. The best thing you can do is recycle plastic so that it can be turned into creative projects or reused in different ways. There are so many programs out there that turn plastic into gold, basically. One of the things you can do to start recycling is to go on the Internet and look for a recycling company nearby that will come to your house once a week to pick up your recycles.

If you or your family love being outside, a way you could give back to this earth is planting a tree. Granted they take so long to grow and so quick to cut down. Planting a tree can replace the tree that was cut down for our needs as humans. Look at how much paper we use, not just for stationary but paper products. If you have young kids, this is a great way to show them how life works by also doing their civic duty to get back to the planet earth.

Lastly if you remember at the beginning of this blog, I talked about how much pain and suffering our planet and society is in. One thing you and your family can do to make a difference is complete a neighborhood act of kindness. Whether that’s going around and asking if their yard needs attending to, picking up trash that people have left behind, asking the elderly if they need groceries. A simple act of kindness can help spread love like wildfire. Be the change you want to see in the world.
