While some celebrities use their social media platforms showcase their appearance and their latest work, there are numerous celebrities who use their following for the greater good. The few, inspirational celebrities encourage their followers to embrace the positivity in the world.

Sophia Bush is one of many influential celebrities. The One Tree Hill star uses both Instagram and Twitter to show off her passion and influence her followers in a positive way. Sophia admits she didn’t understand social media, saying it was “weird and self-promotional.” However, after the 2010 Oil Spill, she realized her voice had potential to impact lives. She now uses Instagram and Twitter to promote the organizations she supports such as Pencils of Promise, Global Poverty Project, and many more. With a growing number of 3.2 million followers, the activist also posts encouraging messages to her followers every Monday, using the hashtag “#MondayMantra.”

Who doesn’t love John Legend? Not only can you hear genuinity and passion in his songs, but you also see it on his social media! The multi-talented artist is an outspoken supporter of the Show Me Campaign, which he promotes on social media frequently. Legend’s goals are to make sure every child in America receives a quality education. While being involved in other organizations such as Teach for America, Teach for All, Harlem Village Academies, and New Profit, John also keeps his 8.4 million followers up to date on current events happening in the world. Although John is a busy man, he devotes time to connect with his followers on what is important to him.

People have their opinions about Kylie Jenner and the Kardashian clan in general, but there is no doubt that Kylie has used her social media platform to promote issues important to her. Having one of the most followed Instagram accounts in the world, Kylie launched a week long campaign that revealed her empathetic side and connected her to her 109 million followers. She wrote, “For the next six days, I will be sharing stories of 6 incredible people who have become heroes in their own way by taking #bullying and turning it into something positive.” Kylie’s goal was to encourage her followers to not let anyone make her feel like they are less than and to love themselves. Her Instagram may be full with selfies, but this campaign she launched was the most influential thing she has done yet!
