Instagram made an announcement this week that made emoji lovers everywhere rejoice. You can now hashtag emoji's with their latest update! Emojis have added character, pizzaz and humor to our conversations for quite some time and now, they will have the chance to do the same on Instagram. Hashtags and emojis have changed the way we communicate and it will be interesting to see how people around the world use them on Instagram. Well, all but one.

The eggplant emoji is not hashtag-able (we know, we made up a word). Unfortunately, due to the potential for obscene references, we will have to live without the eggplant for a while. I'm pretty sure we will find plenty of other emoji's to keep us busy!
